Synopsis

To celebrate the Tate Britain‘s major retrospective of John Martin’s work, director Simon Burrill was commission to create a short film inspired by Martin’s apocalyptic visages.

The Great Day of His Wrath takes its title from Martin’s painting of the same name and introduces us to our heroine, who finds herself in a desolate, subterranean cave system. Upon reaching the surface, she finds herself living in one of the 19th Century artist’s works—it’s all very fire and brimstone.
